Town Of Porter actions in response to COVID-19

In response to the Governor’s ‘Stay at Home’ Order (EO 20-08), the Town of Porter is taking the following actions to balance the safety of our employees and residents with the need to maintain essential services in the town. Porter Town Hall, Public Works/Fire Building, and Community Building at Hawthorn Park will be closed to the public until further notice. Town Hall will be staffed from 8:30 to 12 noon Monday through Friday to answer calls. Public Works will move to essential task and emergency response status. The Porter Parks Department will be closed during the Order. (The parks themselves will remain open to the public). Porter Fire and Police departments will maintain regular operations and services. Residents can make sewer payments by mail, online or by using the dropbox located in the Town Hall parking lot. The Town of Porter will NOT assess penalties, fees or interest on unpaid Sewer bills until further notice. Shut offs of water service were already suspended. In addition, there will be no collection of additional loose garbage bags outside the provided container unless it's in a separate trash container owned by the resident. All other scheduled refuse and recycling collection will remain the same.
